Meet the De Pere Smiles Team

Transcending the norms of honesty, innovation, and transparency.

Let’s Introduce Our De Pere Dentists

Chris Peterson, DMD

A dental expert with the Solea laser and infant frenectomies.

Why did Dr. Peterson choose dentistry?

“I love interacting with my amazing patients, working with my hands, and providing value to people through the work I get to do everyday! Getting to meet and help young families has also become a passion of mine and luckily I get to do this by treating infant lip and tongue-ties to help with breastfeeding issues.”

What’s the best part of De Pere Smiles?

“The best part of going to De Pere Smiles is interacting with my patients and wonderful team members! I enjoy coming up with a treatment plan fitting a patient’s individual needs and helping them achieve optimal oral health.”

“My parents always told me to ‘treat others the way you want to be treated’ and I always follow that motto when it comes to treating my patients.”

Dr. Chris Peterson
I was born and raised in Marinette, WI, and attended St. Norbert College to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  During my four years at SNC, I played four years of men’s college basketball, was an Academic All-American nominee, and team captain.  After graduation, I obtained my dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh and honed my dental and surgical skills during a one year residency at the VA hospitals in Milwaukee and Green Bay.

I am married to the love of my life, Rachael, and have three wonderful children, Audrey, Louie, and Greta.  When I get time, there is nothing I love to do more than bow hunt for trophy whitetail deer each fall.  I also enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and watching/cheering for the Packers, Bucks, Brewers, and Badgers.

My Dental Experience:

  • Have advanced training from national leaders in treating infant lip and tongue-ties
  • Received advanced training in general dentistry by completing a one year General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in both Milwaukee and Green Bay
  • Volunteer at N.E.W. Uninsured Dental Clinic

Dental Memberships:

Maggie Priebe, DDS

A highly skilled dentist with advanced training and a passion for positively impacting people.

Why did Dr. Priebe choose dentistry?

“As a marathon runner, health and physical wellbeing have always been a part of my life. I aspired to choose a career that focuses on the same principles – dentistry proves to satisfy that! Everyday I strive to promote my patient’s health and give them the tools to succeed in the long ‘run’.”

What’s the best part of De Pere Smiles?

“Imagine your favorite local restaurant or café in which you’re greeted with familiarity, a smile and comfort upon entering. DePere Smiles is that to me. It is the atmosphere that is one of my favorite things about the practice. We desire to truly get to know our patients so that their dental needs are best met in a friendly, welcoming environment.”

Dr. Maggie Priebe
After living outside of Wisconsin for a few years, I’m excited to be back and serving patients in my native state! I grew up in Wausau, WI and then headed to the University of Missouri to pursue a degree in biochemistry, graduating with honors. In addition to academics, while at Mizzou I ran cross-country and track & field. Though I enjoyed my time in the lab engaging in research as a biochemist, I knew that I wanted to work directly with others and chose to pursue my dental degree from the University of Michigan, where I graduated. I then returned to Wisconsin to advance my general dentistry skills during a one-year residency working with veterans at the Milo C. Huempfner VA Clinic in Green Bay. I am grateful every day that my academic journey has guided me to a position where I am able to help others

When I am not in the dental clinic, you can find me on a running or hiking trail. I have kept my passion alive for distance running and continue to race half and full marathons. I have completed three of the world marathons—Boston, Chicago, and New York—and hope to complete the remaining three – Berlin, London, and Tokyo – in the next few years. I have also developed a deep appreciation for nature’s beauty here in northeast Wisconsin and elsewhere during my travels through hiking. Whether backpacking on the Appalachian Trail or a day hike at our local Baird’s Creek, I am always ready to explore.

My Dental Experience:

  • Completed a general practice residency focusing on oral surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, implantology, and restorative dentistry while serving the veteran population
  • Gained experience in a hospital setting treating medically complex patients and patients with severe dental anxiety
  • Serve on the Oral Health Partnership board to help pediatric patients and explore how dental care plays an essential role in non-profit organizations
  • Regularly participate in continuing education to better myself as a clinician and therefore better my patients

Dental Memberships:

  • Wisconsin Dental Association
  • Brown-Door-Kewaunee Dental Association
  • American Dental Association
  • Omicron Kappa Upsilon (Dental Honor Society)
  • Xi Psi Phi Alpha International Dental Fraternity

You can count on everyone here to make your dental visits a pleasant experience. The care they provide to their patients is exceptional.

Why do you like working at De Pere Smiles?

“I enjoy coming into work every day with an awesome group of people in a fun environment. I love tackling the new challenges that are presented to me every single day.”

What do you like to do in your free time?

“I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love staying active and busy with hunting, fishing, music, reading, and sports. I love watching any of our stellar Wisconsin sports teams!”

Paul, Chief Operations Officer
I have been at De Pere Smiles since May of 2019 and I love being a part of this team!

I was born and raised in Kimberly, WI, where I have lived for most of my life. I graduated from St. Norbert College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. I also played four years of college basketball while at SNC, where I was fortunate enough to win honors for the “Academic Athlete of the Year” in 2013.

What do you do outside the office?

I have been a huge sports fan my entire life and often times you can find me watching and cheering on my favorite Wisconsin sports teams, or attempting to play those various sports myself.

I value the relationships with family and friends the most and enjoy spending time with the people closest to me. I love being outdoors while fishing, hunting, or enjoying nature. I am a music fanatic, and although I avoided reading at all costs when I was younger, I now love to relax with a good book.

Acacia
Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

What is your favorite part about being a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)?

I started my nursing career on a busy postpartum unit and I remember seeing the confusion on every parent’s face after hearing the “correct” way they should be feeding their baby from various health care providers that entered their room. This is what motivated me to pursue my certification as an IBCLC. I did not want to be just another nurse that walked into their room sharing breastfeeding knowledge that I just learned on the job or from my co-workers. I wanted to be a reliable source of information, a professional my patients could trust and feel comfortable with, and maybe even be that one person that helped them enjoy feeding their baby.

Why do you like working at De Pere Smiles?

I chose De Pere Smiles because I wanted a company that brought the small town feel while striving for big goals.  My entire career has centered around making a positive difference in families’ lives, and finding a company that matches my enthusiasm for creating these life-long improvements is so exciting.

Acacia, Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

Born and raised in the Florida Keys, I decided to leave the warm weather behind after high school to attend Marquette University in Milwaukee, where I earned my Bachelors of Nursing degree.  After graduating, I entered the U.S. Navy and was lucky enough to be stationed in the two locations I always wanted-California and Italy. During my time on active duty I specialized as a Labor and Delivery Nurse.

I am married to my college sweetheart and we have a son who is growing up way too fast! We also have two rescue pups, so we stay very busy. When I’m not working, you can find me renovating some portion of our 1800’s farmhouse, outside with the family, or working on some sort of crafting project.

Anne
Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

What is your favorite part about being a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)?

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a nurse. I loved the thought of being able to help, to care for, and to connect with others. For the past eighteen years, I’ve been blessed to do just that.

It was five years into my career when the desire to learn and know more about breastfeeding really sparked in me. I had just given birth to my first child, and my experience did not go according to plan. After two weeks, I gave up breastfeeding. The pain and sadness that I felt in missing the opportunity was a feeling that I never wanted another mother to feel. I would eventually find out that my child had an undiagnosed tongue tie that would be released at four months of age. Had I known more my experience would have been different, and that became the driving force to become as knowledgeable as I could in my field.

Breastfeeding is a unique journey for everyone. The goals a person has, the
challenges they encounter, and the support they receive all influence the success felt or experienced during that journey. I have always found deep gratitude and joy in being able to be a part of those intimate and vulnerable moments: from the birth of a child to teaching them to feed their infant. To come alongside a parent and really listen, assess what’s going on, and execute a feeding plan that produces feelings of contentment and accomplishment is why I love being a lactation consultant.

Why do you like working at De Pere Smiles?

De Pere Smiles is truly a collaborative environment. It is exciting to be a part of a team using cutting-edge technology and evidence-based practices to provide positive outcomes and enhance patient satisfaction. I am thrilled to be able to utilize my full breadth of knowledge in a way that I haven’t been able to previously for those patients coming in for consults and looking for support.

Anne, Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

The greater Green Bay area has always been my home. I was born and raised here, and I stayed close to home by attending Bellin College of Nursing to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Following graduation, I obtained my Registered Nurse license and spent over 18 years working on the maternity floor in a local hospital. It was there my love of helping breastfeeding mothers and families grew. That specialty area has been my primary focus for the past 13 years, and I obtained my Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) certification in 2009 before obtaining my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification in 2015. In addition, I have had the pleasure of teaching childbirth education classes in the community.

I am married to my best friend and husband, Caleb, and we have three wonderful children, Ezra, Phinehas, and Magdalene. We love spending time as a family exploring the state parks, playing board games, watching TV series, and reading great books, and are currently mini-golfing our way through Wisconsin. Also, I love crafting and baking with my daughter and volunteering at my children’s school.
